Embracing differences and artistry from the beginning
At Roots Salon, we are a team of artists whose passion is to help other’s find and perfect their personal style. We stress a thorough consultation with every guest in order to provide our best work while building trust and confidence in every service we perform. We strive to support our diverse community by forming a creative space where art, education, and kindness flows
Our mission is for stylists to have a place where they thrive because when an artist feels inspired, supported, and connected, they just simply *create* good stuff.
That in turn, makes one happy client!
Embracing differences and artistry since the very beginning
Roots Collective is about connection and artistry–a place where art, education, and kindness flow.
You don’t feel heard in your consultation about your hair goals and the end result does not make you want to come back.

OUR CORE VALUES
A hair salon should always be a safe place. For connection, for laughter, shared stories and news. You should always leave feeling and looking better than when you came in. Though we can’t fix all your problems, we are problem solvers when it comes to your hair!
Our values are rooted in these pillars.
Connection
Authenticity

Creativity
ABOUT ADDIS
Meet the woman behind Roots Collective
After graduating from College of Hair Design here in Lincoln, Ne, I started working at Fernando’s Salon (Salon F). I worked there for numerous years learning from my mentor Tom and his father, Fernando. Tom was a creative technical haircutter and Fernando had been a hairstylist for 40+ years. I gained confidence behind the chair and saw firsthand that it takes more than skill to keep clients coming back.
After Salon F, I decided I was ready to start my own independent business. I rented a suite and kicked off my own mini salon, party of one. A few months into it, I thought, if I can manage my own business, I can open a salon with other stylists. I really missed the community of working with other stylists in a full salon.
In my suite business, I worked to find a balance between work and becoming a mother. I wore many different hats and grew my own clientele at the same time. I also became more interested in curly hair cutting as my own journey had come back around to embracing my natural hair. Working with natural textures was not taught in hair school so I started watching youtube videos and trying techniques that made sense to me with an innate understanding of curls and waves.
My dream for Roots is to be a safe space for all. Whether you believe you deserve it or not, you need time to yourself. The world just seems to get faster paced and we’re constantly told to buy more and rush off to the next thing. We want to be a place to press pause. We will not double book or rush through your service. We won’t pressure any add-on services and you’ll know what to expect to pay at the beginning of your service. We believe hairstylists are creatives. The best hair happens with a clear consultation and proper time to collaborate and create something beautiful.
I look forward to seeing you in my shop soon 🧡

Get to know our amazing stylists who will ensure you have a great hair day!
My expertise and specialty is CURLS of all forms, shapes, and sizes! I will cut and style but coloring is a no go for me now. I love to find the shape and silhouette that best suit your curl patterns.
I am no longer providing hair color service, so though I’ve had 10+ years of doing hair color and am knowledgeable of color theory and techniques, I wouldn’t consider myself an expert anymore!
When a client doesn’t know what style works for their hair texture or style, I pride myself in problem-solving with them to find something they can style themselves and feel absolutely confident about!
I love helping others feel more confident. Whether it’s my stylists developing more skills and feeling good about their craft or my clients seeing their hair taking shape in front of them and their eyes light up. It feels good to make others feel good.
Organic. I cut to how the hair naturally lays or how the client styles it on a day-to-day basis. I like low-effort, low-maintenance hairstyles that complement the face and add interest to your style!
I love working with like-minded artists. Those that are creative, driven as team members, and driven in life to inspire themselves through their art. I also love events/classes/workshops we get to put on!
My personal style is always changing. Sometimes I put a lot of effort into my style and sometimes, I just put on the first thing I see in my closet. Hair is kind of the same. I work well with clients that want a style that compliments them whether they’re wanting to spend a lot of time on their hair or they’re going with a low-maintenance look. Style is a reflection of your mood and moods change. 😉
I attended the College of Hair Design in 2018, and graduated a year later. I then came to Roots Collective to learn more about working with curly hair. I became an official stylist at Roots Collective in November of 2021 after taking a break through the pandemic.
My personal style is very laid back and retro. I’m comfortable taking my time and working at my own pace to help ensure that whoever is in my chair is relaxed. The last thing I would want is to rush to the point that the quality of my work is compromised and my client isn’t able to walk away happy.
Technical training at TONI&GUY and Vidal Sassoon Academies. Licensed Barber. Arrojo razor cutting
Expert in Color Correction, Total Blonding and Fashion Colors
My personal style is ever evolving and always bold. I think that’s important to my work because without evolution, you become stale and lifeless & I’m always ready to take chances and make changes.
At Roots Collective, we believe that good hair is meant for everyone.
